Does The Nice Guy Syndrome Still Exist Even When You’re Mature Dating?

Nice guys finishing last is something that’s supposed to grow old with age. You’re supposed to outgrow any of the tendencies you did not like in a so called nice guy when you were younger. Part of the fun of mature dating is supposed to be that you’re going to be appreciative of the qualities in this man that you might’ve not valued when you were younger.

The little things you may have took for granted like being on time, paying for dinner, opening doors, and actually getting to know each other a little bit. But even in mature dating guys complain that they are still treated as the nice guy, and it hinders their progress with a woman. So I pose these solutions to the ladies to help them evaluate what they really want as a more mature individual.

1.) Getting rid of silly behavior as a mature dating adult

Think about a lot of what the so-called bad boy did to you when you were younger. He treated you like crap, made you feel bad, and never came through when you wanted him to. Don’t forget missing important dates and other things. This is all silly behavior that is the product of immature little boys, and you should be glad to date a man who has gotten over that stage of his life. After all as a mature dating adult you don’t want to put up with this garbage anymore, so this is all the more reason to appreciate the nice guy, especially at a more mature age.

2.) Why do you really want the nice guy?

Asking yourself why you really want the nice guy will help you get a better understanding as a mature dating adult. The nice guy may represent a lack of game playing, or a lack of immaturity. These are all good things right. But you should never go for the nice guy simply because you feel like you can’t do any better and the nice guy has all the traits you want in someone who offers security. If you are just looking for security then some other area of your love life is going to suffer, and it is going to be at the nice guy’s expense.

3.) Maybe you just need some alone time

As a mature dating adult you may just need to take a step back and be by yourself for a little while. There is nothing wrong with this as you may have been taught to believe. Having the ability to be by yourself will help you determine what you really are looking for in a man, Being a nice guy doesn’t mean being weak or some how not a man. It means being able to treat people with respect and show them common courtesy when it’s necessary. Don’t hold this against the nice guy as a mature dating adult.

Being a mature dating adult and still having problems with the nice guy syndrome is not the way to go. You want to get over this and appreciate this quality later in life because by this time their will be many guys who will care less to have it.
